Dua lipa is a English artist and performer born August 22, 1995 at London United Kingdom. She signed a contract with Warner Bros Records after a couple of years of work and put out a self-titled album in 2017. The album peaked at number three at the U.K. Albums Chart and produced eight singles, including Be The One I.D.G.A.F and the U.K. number-one song New Rules which peaked at number six within the United States. Lipa was awarded the Brit Award in 2018 as British Female Soloist and British Breakthrough Artist. Her album is certified platinum across a variety of countries. Dua Lipa was born by London in the UK by Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa rexha (mother) and Dukagjin Lilipa (father). Her parents are of Kosovo Albanian descent. Bosnian ancestry through her grandmother. Additionally, her ancestors are from Peja, which is a Kosovo town Peja. Her grandparents were historians as well. Gjin along with Rina are her twins. Lipa's father, the guitarist and lead singer of Kosovan band Oda has influenced her in a musical way. The band was heavily influenced by their father's music which featured his music compositions and songs like David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics Stereophonics. Lipa began singing when she was only 5 years old. In the age of nine she began to learn how to sing. Lipa has performed a cover of Ain't Got You and Beautiful by Christina Aguilera, both on YouTube. Lipa was signed to Warner Bros. Records a agreement in 2014. The first single she released was New Love was released in August of 2015.
